Jade Le Flay is an enigma in the Australian music scene. The Sydney born DJ and producer has pushed boundaries with her experimental style well outside of her club roots and has managed to transform her DJ set into an unforgettable live performance with collaboration from a collective of creatives including live vocalists, rappers and dancers.
Born into a family of DJs, it’s little wonder that Le Flay had her calling to the stage at such an early age. Travelling the world as a professional dancer since childhood, the DJ and producer’s next step is to execute her vision globally.
Le Flay kicked off 2019 with the Soulection family Joe Kay, Mr Carmack and more with a sold out Sydney show. To welcome the new year, she hosted a killer yacht party, Fuego, which preceded her first sold out event only months before. Jade’s festival presence started with her inaugural performance at Splendour in The Grass 2017, seasoning the Splendour patrons with her signature flavour of hip hop, trap and experimental beats. Following on from that performance, Le Flay was quickly snapped up for Stoney Roads’ Formations festival and Red Bull Music Academy’s One Day Car Park fest. She also featured at the Let’s Sin stage at Secret Garden Festival 2018 where her dancers styled and directed by Le Flay herself - it was one of the most talked-about DJ sets of the weekend thanks to well and truly stepping outside of the box.
Considered as one of Australia’s go-to support acts for the live hip hop and rap community globally, she’s opened up stages Sydney’s Metro, Enmore, Oxford Art Factory and Max Watts Theatres for acts including Troyboi, TOKiMONSTA and Thundamentals and Melbourne’s Alumbra for Tkay Maidza. We can find Le Flay DJ-ing after parties, most notably, for acts such as Rihanna, Lil Uzi Vert, Future and Anderson .Paak.
A rising star in the indie hip hop world, Le Flay is no stranger to joining forces with community radio and has been hand-picked for guest mixes at Triple J and FBi with respected presenters including ‘The Kickon’ with Shantan Wantan Ichiban and ‘Mix Up’ with Andy Garvey.
Diverse and rebellious, Le Flay maintains a strong position representing brands and featuring in campaigns for General Pants Co, JD Sports, Reebok, Nike and ADIDAS.
